"iTunes library file is locked" error

Asked by jlawkwu in Apple Desktop, Apple Operating Systems, Apple Software

Tags: locked, itunes, file, library

iTunes was locked up, so I Forced it to quit.  The next time I tried to launch the program, I got the following error.

"The iTunes Library file is locked, on a locked disk, or you do not have write permission for this file."

I verified that the permissions were correct (Read/Write) and even repaired permissions but to no avail.

I am running OS X 10.4.10 on a G5 iMac.  iTunes version 7.3.  Thanks!Start Free Trial
