Dear All - having repaired a number of apple ibook g3's I am coming across the following error on multiple occassions and would be grateful of all assistance.
When installing the hard drive it is not detected - sometimes you hear the hard drive power up but other times nothing. OS X installer runs but does not detect drive nor is it detected in target disk mode (firewire) mode - yellow symbol appears on screen but nothing on external computer.
The hard drives are apple compatible & are functional when using an external caddy and another mac. I am confident that I am connecting them correctly - optical drives are recognised & powered.
