Network host is busy: will retry in 30 seconds

I have a Mac with OS 10.4.8 connected to a D-Link DPR-1260 Print Server.  The print server is, in turn, connected to a Westell Router/Modem (from Verizon).  

My Macintosh and my HP Laserwriter 3050 are connected to the Router/Modem.  I also have two PCs connected to the print server.

The two PCs can print with no problem.  However when I try print from my Mac,  the document does not get printed.  When I open Printer Setup Utility.app and go to “Show Jobs,” the window shows the following: “Network host “192.168.1.10” is busy; will retry in 30 seconds…”  This dialog never ends and no printing takes place.

Any ideas how to solve this problem?

http://discussions.apple.com/search.jspa?search=Go&q=DPR-1260 yielded a discussion on the top but no solution, at least none that I could understand.

Perhaps I am not sufficiently knowledgeable, but statements such as

"In my case the printer queue name is MP500 Then I accessed the CUPS printer web-interface on the Mac via 172.0.0.1:361 (I am not at home and I not sure right now if it is 361 or 360). ..."

and

didn't help me.

I need some step-by-step guidance.

The long and short of the above link, is that you may not have the right driver installed for the printer to be able to print through a print server. What model printer do you have?

Masterform, am I imagining it or are some posts missing from this thread? I thought I had given you a link to the HP driver downloads and I thought you had accepted the answer, but I no longer see my post or your response.

I did not receive any response after I said that my printer is HP Laserjet 3050.  And my problem has not been solved.  I will certainly let you know when, and if, the problem is solved.  That just has not happened yet.

Download the software from the bottom link on the HP page in the link above, then follow the instructions for connecting to a networked HP 3050 found at page 23 of the downloaded pdf manual.

I downloaded the software and began installation.  When the HP Setup Assistant told me to "Select your HP All-in-One device" I chose "Network" (the other choice was "USB".) It showed a "Create" button which I clicked.  It asked me to "enter the network address or network name for the desired printer" and I entered "192.168.1.10"  It responded that "Device is unreachable".  I tried "192.168.1.1" and got the same response.

I have spent a great deal of time with this problem.  I have decided that it isn't worth any more of my time.  I have ordered a USB A/B switch.  This is not a very elegant solution, but it will work for me.
