Try resetting the PRAM too (hold Apple-Alt-P-R at startup). Maybe even reset the SMU (unplug power, remove battery, hold power button for 10 seconds, replace battery / power).

Browse All TopicsI just booted my Macbook this morning and the keyboard is not working. It worked fine yesterday. Is there anything I can do to get this working again without having to replace this. I need a resolution quick because I leave on a trip in 48 hours. So if I need to get this fixed at a shop it needs to be done quickly. Thanks

A few things to try:
- Reboot
- Boot from Apple Hardware Test CD
- Connect an external USB keyboard
The external keyboard will probably be your best quick solution. If booting from the hardware test CD indicates a hardware problem and you are adventurous, you could try checking the internal keyboard connection yourself (see http://www.ifixit.com/). However, I would recommend you take it to the Genius Bar in your local Apple Store before you take it apart yourself.
