Help! Hard drive isn't working!

i unplugged my 250g hard drive from my mac book pro while it was busy, and i got a device removal error msg. when i tried to hook it back up, it wouldn't mount to my desktop!!! :(

it's been a week, and i've been trying all sorts of things.
1. changed the usb cable
2. used techtool pro but it freezes in the same spot, i left it overnight and in the morning it was at the same spot. and my hard drive was not whizzing.
3. it is detected when i startup from my install cd in disk utilities, but not when i run disk utilities from my hard drive.
4. i cannot repair from disk utilities because i get an error msg
5. it is not making a clicking sound
6. it is also detected when i run techtool pro but it seems like it cannot be accessed by it, but it does give the specs of the hard drive when i hit info.
