Grey screen w/apple logo only on start up

G-4 OS 10.4 starts up with grey screen w/logo only. Tried starting up in safe mode - single user - no effect. Reset PRAM/NVRAM - no effect. Cannot get disk drawer (MercuryPBG4DVD-DL) to open tried both F-12 and eject buttton. Suggestions welcome answers worshipedStart Free Trial
