3rd gen processor: Yes, when you see HD 4000 graphic card, you can know it's ivy bridge (3rd gen).

Fusion Drive: It's really similar to hybrid drives but it's managed automatically by Apple's configurations. It is still a combined drive from a regular HDD and SSD memory blocks so it gives you much bigger storage space than SSD and better performance than regular HDDs (but slower than native\"full" SSD and more expensive than regular HDD).

Windows (desktop\server): Can be installed with BootCamp app, you don't need external DVDRom for that, the wizard will help you create a bootable USB flash drive from an ISO file of your windows version.

Monitor: It has HDMI port and you're getting a DVI adaptor in the package so probably every monitor and TV from the last 3 years will work out of the box.

But yes, if you want a DVDRom you can use most of the USB ones or get the SuperDrive from apple that looks really good next to a Mac :)

Enjoy, it's a beautiful piece of hardware.
strung,

"
The Mac Mini uses a Thunderbolt connector for video. Unless your monitor also has a Thunderbolt connector, you will need a Thunderbolt-to-VGA or Thunderbolt-to-DVI connector"

we can order this online on the same order page of Mac Mini ?

"However, it is probably cheaper, easier and more efficient to pay $20 to upgrade the Mac operating system to Mac OS X Server ( https://www.apple.com/osx/server/ ) which includes an Apache (unix) web server. "

But I want to run windows 2012 server with Slivelight 5, is it possible on top of Mac mini ?

"You can install Windows on the computer using an external DVD and Apple's Boot Camp Assistant ( http://www.apple.com/support/bootcamp/ )."

it don't say we can install Windows 2012 in Mac mini, right?

V4705,

"Windows (desktop\server): Can be installed with BootCamp app, you don't need external DVDRom for that, the wizard will help you create a bootable USB flash drive from an ISO file of your windows version."

Any step by step guide on how to do it? we will only do Windows 2012 installation but probably from DVD-ROM.

"Monitor: It has HDMI port and you're getting a DVI adaptor in the package so probably every monitor and TV from the last 3 years will work out of the box."

so if I have DVI in monitor then that's it ?

V4705,

"for a DVD installation you'll just need to resize an existing partition to make free space for Windows and internet connection to download the latest drivers from Apple, for a USB flash creation you'll also need an ISO image and a ready-to-format flash drive of 4gb or more.
"
if I rebuild the Mac mini with Windows 2012, then the internet connection will not have internet connection, so it is not going to work? am I think wrongly ?

I never create a bootable USB flash disk to setup an OS, it is doable for Mac MIni ? any step by step guide on this ?

"BTW, I would search discussions.apple for any incompatibility any known issues with the current drivers from Apple for Server 2012, just to make sure you're aware of anything that may fail. "

What is it ? where is it ? I think we can share in here.
The mini will come with the Mac OS installed. Running BootCamp Assistant http://www.apple.com/support/bootcamp/ will repartition the drive into two partitions, one for Windows and one for Mac. You can make the Windows partition as big as you want, as long as you leave enough room left for the Mac OS on the remaining partition.

It is a good idea to have a small Mac partition instead of devoting the whole drive to Windows as this gives you a backup boot option if Windows goes kaput.
strung,

Yeah I heard that also, it seems that I MUST reserve some partitiaton for Mac OS, right>?
Yes. But it is a good idea to do so as that leaves you with the option of booting into OS X if you have a problem on the Windows side.
