I have a limited amount of USB and ony ONE FW port on my iMac. So, I can't get a PCI card. I have like three or four external drives in a variety of both USB and FW connected now. I was trying to figure out a solution so that I can either throw them all in an enclosure and have one massive HDD, or if that was even possible, considering that some of my drives are PATA and the rest are SATA's.
I checked out Newegg, but I guess I don't really know what I'm looking for exactly, and what specs apply to me. Some of my PATA drives are kinda small (160gigs), and my SATAs are much bigger. I even have a WD MyBook that's a 750 gig. I could take the HDD out of that enclosure I think, when trying to combine all of these. I don't know if it would best to just get rid of the PATA's and buy one big SATA, and daisy chain two 2-bay SATA enclosures into one connection to my computer, or if that is a bad idea.
Also, if my enclosures have eSATA connections, can you daisy chain them together with an eSATA cable, or is that not what it is intended for?
Thanks!
