The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. When you provide your feedback, each rating is adjusted accordingly. So, if you see a solution that has a poor rating that you think is a good solution, let us know by rating it. As you do, the rating will be adjusted and will become more accurate for other members of our site.

If you have any suggestions that you would like to make for our rating system, please ask a question in the Suggestions Zone of Community Support.

Thank you!

Is the Ipod Nano 4th generation USB cable the same as 3rd generation. etc

Asked by frashii in iPODs, CD / MP3 Music & Players, iPod

Tags: , ,

I recently bought an Ipod nano 4th generation and for the life of my I can't figure out if the USB cable it uses is the same as the 3rd, 2nd and 1st generation

Points will be awarded for answering "Can i use a 3rd/2nd geration USB cable with the 4th generation device.:. (IE. are they different) or do I need to buy a 4th generation cable" with bonus point awarded for "yes it will work, but the 4g cable is different" if that happens to be the case.

I've researched vvia google and such and cannot figure it out. Tons of links to 'buy' cables, but I cannot find a description that lists teh 4th generation Ipod as being the correct one for the generic Ipod nano cables. This list all kinds of 'what they are compatible with' but I have yet to find a description that shows a cable (OEM or otherwise) that is compatible with 1g, 2g, 3g and 4g.

I am trying to buy an extra USB cable (Cigarette lighter, solar power, moose treadmill, etc), but without knowing I have this nagging feeling that the 4G cable is unique and my carefully herded and corralled moose on a treadmill will be unable to charge my 4G Ipod.
