Question

How do I fix ipod touch 2 generation white screen issue?

Asked by: tbolin67

32 GB ipod touch can't get rid of white screen. Tried all of the suggested reset options I can find including the button reset procedure and connecting to itunes.

Button reset only yields white screen again as does the itunes reset. Some troubleshooting sites I've found say that the slider and touch buttons still work - not in this case. In itunes i've upgraded to the latest firmware and can transfer files to/from the ipod. It does make the typical noise when connecting/disconnecting from the computer.

Replaced the LCD and primary screen to rule out those components but still have the same issue. Logic board?

Warranty period may be over but still you u can get technical support....better call them...if there is any problem with parts, I think they will ask to return the ipod then they will check and tell you how much it will cost to repair...if u r happy with the amount u can repair it otherwise buy a new one! This is normal support process until that product's service period is end.

White screen usually means the lcd is in good shape. (usually)
It seams you have figured this out already.
you may have a logic board issue or ribbon cable not seated correctly.
