apple: installation of itunes

i have a sony 2002 laptop. i get the following error message when i try to install itunes:

The iTunes + QuickTime installer requires Windows XP servive Pack 2 or later....

when i install wind xp service pack 2 i can not boot my computer. is there any solution to this problem?Start Free Trial
