iPhone as dictaphone?

Hey All,

    I was just curious if any of you know whether or not the iPhone can be used as a dictaphone.  Not a full dictaphone service, mind you, I don't need someone writing out what I say;  I just mean can it record my voice while talking and save it to an mp3 etc.  I apologize for asking this question here but I could not find the answer to this anywhere.  Thanks.

If you open your installer application on the iphone you can search for an application called VNOTE or Voicenotes.  This is essentially a voice recorder where you can record your voice.  Not sure what format it saves in though.  Possibly AAC.  If you cant find it try going to the 'Sources' category in installer and make sure you have all sources installed.  otherwise you may be able to download it direct from freeit4Less.com

I know that there are ways of seeing files stored on your iphone through other applications which may help you to extract the voice file from your iphone.

Cool Thanks.   I don't really need to get it off the iphone, as long as I can play it back and hear it through the phone whenever I want; this is what it does right?  I'm a musician so basically it would be helpful if I hear a cool idea in my head I'd like to be able to just hum it out into the iphone before I forget it etc...  This program will do that for me correct?  And its free?   Thanks.

Yes its a simple sound recorder.  As it so happens to be I like it in case I hear a song on the radio I like so I record it to google it later.  Or for recording thoughts etc.  This program will do what you need and is free to download through installer on the iphone.  Enjoy!
