The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. When you provide your feedback, each rating is adjusted accordingly. So, if you see a solution that has a poor rating that you think is a good solution, let us know by rating it. iPhone 2.0 ActiveSync with SBS 2003

I am trying to setup the new iPhone 3G with 2.0 software to sync email, contacts and calender from our SBS 2003 R2 server. The iPhone accepts all the of the settings but no data is synced. I have even tryed entering incorrect user information which the iPhone picks up on so a connection must be established.

All SBS SPs and hotfixes installed. This is on an internal network for now during setup and testing. We have a purchased an SSL cert from a certificate authority with NO errors showing during OWA. A static IP address is setup for exchange.ourdomain.com and a DNS record existing locally for exchange.ourdomain.com pointing to the local IP of the SBS server (192.168.0.1). We are using a mydomain.local internal domain name. SSL port on the firewall is open and forwarding to SBS server but again I am testing locally at the moment. I have run the CEICW (Configure Email and Internet Connection Wizard) to allow the appropriate services (Outlook Mobile Access).

We do NOT have ISA installed. Is this needed on SBS 2003 when we are away from the corporate network?
