If first text message comes from the sender, I will see that person's date/time stamp on my iphone, but not the date/time stamp I send the text. Is there a way to show both send/receive date/time stamps on the iphone conversation?

The current version of the iPhone's firmware (2.1) does not show a timestamp on each message sent or received. Messages are handled as threads; to keep the screen looking clean, a timestamp will only appear when a conversation has been inactive for more than 5 minutes. This includes all messages sent or received; if there is there is more than 5 minutes between messages though, a timestamp will appear. If there is no timestamp between messages, you know less than 5 minutes have elapsed.
Currently, there is also no way to change this setting, just remember that is hasen't been long if there is no timestamp.
Hope this helps!
