To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating. - The Grade of the Solution
- The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
- The Number of Author and Expert Comments
- The Number of Experts Contributing
- The Feedback of the Community
Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. Hi,
I've seen all kinds of variations on this, so can someone please provide a full explanation.
We currently have 2 Win2000 workstation PC's and 1 Mac with OS 9.x. We used MACLAN TCP/IP when one PC was still Win95. It's unstable sometimes and every time we upgrade a PC with a new OS it's a bit costly for the new MACLAN upgrade. Also, we sometimes temporarily add another PC or two to the network.
Our goal is to share files both directions, share a windows printer, and share a DSL Internet connection. Our Mac person likes OS 9.x much better than OSX and doesn't want to switch.
Just switching MACLAN to Dave doesn't seem like a logical answer. Is there a better way of doing this? We can set up a spare PC as true a server, but does it have to run Win2000 or XP Pro to work? If we can get her to go OSX, how does that change things?
