Macintosh cannot authenticate with Netgear wireless router

I just purchased a new Netgear wireless router (802.11g).  I configured it to use WEP security with a 64bit key and a passphrase.  My Macintosh running Tiger can see the network SSID, but when I enter in the passphrase, it isn't accepted.  I tried alpha-numeric passphrases from 4 to 12 digits and nothing takes.

If I turn off WEP authentication, the Mac joins the network just fine.

Is there something different about the mac?  What am I missing here?Start Free Trial
