but I must be doing someting wrong please help
I get to here:

The information on the page you're looking at seems to be taken from http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=107800, minus a few critical parts. Specifically, the Apple article contains steps to _create_ the EnableUnicastDotLocal script in the /usr/sbin directory, prior to executing it. Obviously it won't work without creating the script first, which the SBS doc fails to detail!

Specifically, you need to run the attached commands on the Mac prior to undertaking the steps you described. Note that the "cat > EnableUnicastDotLocal" creates the script containing the three lines below that one.

This is taken straight from the Apple technical document, so have a read of it to make sure you haven't missed any other steps.
