It does not make a difference whether I plug the cable directly into the computer or via a powered hub (which is more convenient).

Browse All TopicsI cannot get my iMac to recognise and scan from my HP PSC 1500. When I open up HP Scan Pro it says
Sorry, scanner not be intitialized [sic]. (Scanner not found.)
However, I can print to the same device OK, and I can scan from it on my MacBook. A difference is that MacBook is running an older version of Scan Pro i.e. 7.3.14. The version on the iMac is 7.4.5.

How is the scanner connected to the computer?
