Ok,
Stick with me this is a odd one.
I have two buildings connected with wireless access points in bridge mode. High gain antennas, worked well for 2+ years. The bridges connect at one end to a gigabit switch and the main network, directly to a new Macbook pro running leopard at the other end.
Speed in finder copies, entourage, opening images works but is very slow. 2MB file takes 2-3 minutes to copy.
Tried with two different Macbooks running leopard, both slow.
Connect an old tibook running OS 9 and it is lightning fast. What you would expect for this connection type.
Both laptops in the main office connected to ethernet are fine. Also using Timbuktu on one of the macbooks at the distant location is fast.
It seems like some protocols on Macbook Pro using 10.5 are running slow, but some are ok. The issue seemed to coincide with replacing the OS 9 laptop with the 10.5 Macbook Pro.
Again the network using other protocols is capable of very fast transfers.
Bridges are Linksys units, I think WAP54G in bridge mode. Server is Win2003 running services for Mac.
Thoughts/Help?
thanks
Bob
