How to convert udf folder on Mac

I'm trying to convert a udf folder on my Mac. Ok - here is what happens now with my laptop where I do have a DVD player:
I insert the disc, it shows up on my desktop as a folder with a small red circle in the lower right-hand corner that has a negative symbol in it. The DVD player brings up the title screen where I have to choose the one and only chapter on the disc in order to see the video. It does then play. However, when I click on the folder to find the file to edit in Final Cut, there are no files. The window even says "0 files." The properties show that there are 4.3MB on the disc and the info for the disc within DVD Player shows that the file is a VIDEO_TS file located in that folder on my desktop but I can't get to it.
