Problem:
When opening our 2009 cover files the Æ symbol is being inserted instead of the ® symbol.
File Set up:
The original files were set up on QuarkXPress 7.31 on PC
Production Platform:
We use QuarkXPress 7.3 on MAC to open and send to print.
Font+Management:
The font we are using is Frutiger45-light. We use Suitcase Fusion to manage our fonts on the MAC
Trouble shooting:
The files open properly using QuarkXPress 7.31 on PC
All older files using the same ® symbol and the same font open properly on the MAC OS using QuarkXPress 7.3. These older files were set up in QuarkXPress 6.1 or earlier editions on PC.
Conclusion?
Point 1 of troubleshooting proves that it isnt an originator set up problem.
Point 2 proves that it is not solely a cross platform PC to MAC issue.
Could it possibly be a QuarkXPress 7.31 PC to QuarkXPress 7.3 MAC specific problem?
