I'm having trouble using any back up utility on 2 older Apple computers with same set-up.
I just want to clone these drives so I can wipe clean, reformat, and restore. I
OSX 10.2.8 software up to date
Disk utility has been run
powerbook powerPC G3 bronze 333 mhz; 1 partition, no os9 installed
boot rom 1.0.f1 apparently this is the latest firmware for my type of powerbook, no firewire
( I also have an imac G4 with osx 10.2.8, & boot rom 4.x but details irrelevant since they both have same problem)
- external maxtor with more than 2X the space needed available
SUPERDUPER- I found an older version dated Feb 07 that supports 10.2.8. When I try to run it says "The application cannot be launched because this system is incompatible"
Disk Utility- it lets me fix disk, but there is no option that says 'back-up'
Carbon Copy cloner for osx 10.2x- unable to run. When I open it says "some components not installed /user/bin/basename/" Click to download missing components goes to a bad link. I can't find file BSD_for_CCC.pkg.tgz on their site via search either.
My preference is superduper because I know the disk image works flawlessly, but any solution that works is acceptable.
