Firefox 2.0 on Mac 10.3 is not accepting PDF open parameters

Am trying open a pdf page through URL like this http://www.abc.com/def.pdf#page=2

The pdf always opens the first page instead of page 2 directly. Please help me to resolve this issue. It's a big bottleneck for me.

This is happening on Firefox 2 and Mac 10.3 and 10.4  with Adobe Reader 7.0.
The URL opens fine on Windows OS.
