I have an iMac (Leopard) with a Canon iP4300 printer. I'm using "Chicken of the VNC" on the iMac to control a WXP PC running RealVNC and everything was pretty good. Now I've lost the ability to print from the WXP PC. I've run the various Troubleshooters and Wizards, run Bonjour a number of times on the PC, checked the Router ports, and the PC firewall, checked sharing on the iMac, and made sure the LAN is working.
Trying to print from Notepad on the PC, I get msg: "Need to select a printer". At the same time on the Print menu, the Canon printer is listed twice as a network printer, one listing checked as the default PC system printer.
Everything on the Notepad menu is dimmed except Add Printer and Find Printer. Neither choice gets me anywhere. The "Find" route eventually says I need to install a driver. I have used the Canon disk to reinstall the printer on both the iMac and the PC (I got the PC system to print to it via a direct USB connection with some difficulty, and then ran that way for several hours of work).
Word Perfect and Photoshop Elements won't print via the network either.
I would appreciate some guidance.
Thanks.
