X Serv on VM

I want to setup a test X Serv on my Macbook Pro. Can I use VMARE Fusion and load X Serv as a VM. Ultimately my goal is to get a Kerio up and running on a X Serv VM and then transfer it to another machine.
Does this sound crazy or a reasonable plan?
