FireWire Drive Fails to Mount

Asked by LPNavon in Mac OS X, Hard Drives & Storage, Mac OS 10.4 (Tiger)

My son's 250GB LaCie FireWire Drive fails to mount on his MacBook. (running Mac OSX Tiger)
I told him to run Disk Utility to see if he could repair it but couldn't (log below)
I also told him to try and mount it on a different Mac but that also failed.
He has a lot of files there that are not on his Mac or anywhere so the option of simply reformatting the drive is not a good one.
Any suggestions would be most appreciated.
