Deploying proxy settings to Mac's using Safari and OSX

Tags: Apple, OSX, OSX 10.5.2, Deploying proxy settings
Hi All,

I need to deploy proxy settings to Mac users using Safari on OSX.

If these were Windows boxes I could use a GPO but I don't believe MAC's can use these. Can I use PAC files distributed via 'automatically detect proxy settings' or dsitributing them via DHCP options. Can I use WPAD?

Can I do it wiothout PAC files and not setting browser settings manually?

Additionally will Safari allow NTLM challenges to be made to the browser. I know this is broken in OSX 10.5.2 and is expected to be fixed in 10.5.3 (works fine with Firefox but not Safari).
