How to make Mac OS X hide hidden files on Windows volume?

Asked by stmadsen in Mac OS X

Tags: Apple, OS X

I run a mixed Windows and Mac OS X environment with Windows Server 2003 at the heart.  When Mac users access Windows file shares via SMB (and even WebDAV), they can see all of the files hidden by Windows.  When Mac users connect via AFP (with Services for Macintosh installed on the Windows server), the Mac's correctly do not show files hidden by Windows.  Anyone know how I can get Mac OS X to hide hidden files when accessing Windows shares?  Thanks for any help or information you might have!  I ask because I would like to eliminiate Services for Macintosh and have everyone use SMB.Start Free Trial
