Hi,
In OS X, it will always ask you to enter your administrator details when installing software even if you are logged in as the administrator. (this is simple to secure the system more, and stop malice software from installing itself without your full permission.)
So, if you a certain that you have not ever entered a password, even back when you set-up the computer, It should be as simple as: typing in your Administrator user name, leaving the password field blank and clicking OK.
If you find that it requires a password, and you cannot remember it, your in a difficult situation, the only way to fix this is by inserting the original boot CD that came with your computer and doing a password reset from there. These original disc are model specific, so not any will work, but a full copy of the operating system will work.
If you do not have the original disc available, and cannot get hold of a full copy of the operating system your only option is to: take it into the Apple store Genius Bar, and get them to reset it for you. (they keep a copy of every operating system handy)
Hope you can resolve your problem soon.
