Locate wallpapers folder in MAC OS 10.6.1 Snow Leopard

Have installed Apple' s Snow Leopard OS 10.6.1. And have downloaded some new "Snow" wallpapers. But where the HECK is the folder to put the images into? I'm pretty sure before Snow Leopard the folder was > USER/LIBRARY/DESKTOP PICTURES.
But in "Snow" there is no such folder. 
Am finding this same question popping up on bulletin boards all over the place!
Have tried to search for the answer at Appple.com - no luck
 
Can anyone help?

Hi,

Which browser r u using?

Actually, the default location download location is Desktop. In your case check carefully on desktop, If it is not there. Go to Finder and Search for the wallpaper with name. If you don't remember the name. download another one and remember the name and search for that. Surely you will get the location.

Check these too -->
Download locations:
For Safari, check Safari > Preferences > General > "Save downloaded files to:". For Firefox, check Firefox > Preferences > Main > "Save files to". For Firefox, also make sure that there is a check mark next to "Show the Downloads window when downloading a file" if you want the download window to open when you start a download.

Hi afthab:

Sorry, I think you misunderstood my question.
It's not the "Downloads" folder I am searching for.
I am searching for the system folder where OS 10.6.1 keeps its wallpapers. I have already downloaded a few new wallpapers from Apple.com. I want to install them with existing wallpapers.
In that pursuit, I have already tried Spotlight searches for names of existing wallpapers, however, Spotlight appears to not see wallpaper files.
Where are all OS X's wallpapers hiding?

THX! But am I right in thinking that "Desktop Pic" _used to be_ located in User/Library/Desktp pice?

I can't remember. I always find it odd that you can go to hunt for something and have a choice of libraries to search in.

You can also make a folder in your Pictures (or anywhere else!) folder and click '+' in the list of folders in Desktop. Select your folder, and you will have all your Own pictures available there.
