Situation:
At company X all user work on MAC's. They have one MAC designated as the "file server". They would like users from home to have access to the data stored on the "file server" and be able to manipulate the files over the connection. Most files are graphics and are over 3MB in size. They do not want to use a FTP solution to download the file, manipulate, and FTP back to the "file server". They currently have a shared DSL line into the office with five static IP addresses.
Options considered:
1. VPN-X Server 2.4.1.39
- Can share files from home with the "file server", will be slow and can lock up on files over 5MB.
2. LogMeIn Pro
- Only one user at a time can access the "file server". They can transfer files using drag and drop features through LogMeIn.
3. Drop Box
- Maintain the same files on all systems, issues when multiple people are accessing, manipulating, and saving files. One will over write the other.
