Is it possible to sync contacts with Entourage 2008 via IMAP?

We recently moved over to a hosted MDaemon system, and we have 1 Mac that just won't sync contacts via IMAP.  The client is Entourage 2008 - I can subscribe to folders (although not public folders?) but neither public nor private contacts will come over.  Any suggestions?
