Deploy printer driver on OSX

I have about 1500 OSX workstation,  we have about 46 network printer we need to config and roll out driver.

Is there a third party tool and or tool in OSX server to do this jobs?

Do you have Apple Remote Desktop?

Or have a look at Deploy Studio - http://www.deploystudio.com/Home.html

You should have these or something similar in place to manage so many macs!!

The only other option would be to create a custom installer package and send it to all computers via ssh or something and remote install .. (not an easy task)

I do not wish to reimage all the workstation, i just simply want to be able to roll out new printer driver

These are network printer each will have it own ip address but all are same make and model

How can i go about deploy and config the printer to the correct ip address and all.

That's why I sent you the URL to iceberg.  Iceberg works like this:

  1. create a before snapshot state of your computer 
  2. install apps or drivers or both 
  3. create an after snapshot state of your computer 
  4. convert to .pkg or .mpkg fil 
  5. Deploy the package.

paulhuynh - I second nappy_d's recommendation for ICEBERG.

You don't tell us what range of Macs you have ... are you working with OSX 10.4 or 10.5 etc?

If you don't have something like Apple Remote Desktop in place I would STRONGLY recommend it.
