Where are my deleted items going in Mac Mail?
I've recently switched to a Mac. I'm using Mail with an IMAP account. My problem is, when I delete something I can't find it. I've checked the Trash and Deleted Items folder. The only way I can find anything is to use the Spotlight Search. It will find the sent messages but not the one from the sender. When I choose to "Show In Mailbox" it goes back to Mail and doesn't show me the folder the message is in. Doesn't give any sort of errors simply does nothing.
I'm using OSX 10.5.8

Hello,
I believe that "Trash mailbox" is MTA specific and not all mail servers support this feature. To be sure that you will not lose any emails (even in the Trash) don't check "Store deleted messages on the server" mailbox.
Your Trash folder (mailbox) should be under "On my mac" in the left pane of the viewer window

Additionally, when I delete a message, I have no idea where it goes. Can't be found in the deleted items folder or in the trash.

The problem had to do with folders of the same names and conflicts within the IMAP server. Thanks to all for your efforts.
