"Error 51: IPC socket allocation failed with error ffffffffffffch. This is most likely due to the cisco systems, inc. vpn service not being started. Please start this service and try again."
I have no clue how to start a service on a mac. I have struggled for a few hours but cannot find a services button.
Any help would be appreciated

Have you restarted since the install? If not, do that first.
To start/restart the Cisco VPN system service, open Terminal while logged in as an admin and issue the following command:
sudo SystemStarter -v restart CiscoVPN
You will be asked for a password - enter the password of the current logged in admin user. This will start, or restart, the CiscoVPN service and display progress.
