I managed to do this a simpler way but thanks for your suggestion. It was the printer.pref file that I needed. I can't remember the exact location but when I find it again I will post it.

Browse All TopicsDue to a bug in the drivers of a network printer I use technical staff had to set up specific printer presets for that printer before it would print more than 1 page per document, even if a document was 10 pages long it would only print 1 page until the preset was created and saved.
I have since changed machines and want to migrate these presets to the new mac as I get the same issue. I have done this before by simply copying a printer presets config file across from one machine to the other but I can't remember what the filename was or where it was stored?
Anyone have any ideas? Thanks in advance

On OSX the CUPS printing service stores all the Printer settings in a PPD file ..
If you open Safari and enter
http://localhost:631
You should see the CUPS administration centre .. take a note of the settings for your printer here
Also the PPD file for the installed printers will be located at
/private/etc/cups/ppd
Copy the relevant PPD over to the other Mac .. and add a new printer using this PPD file .. CUPS will add the printer and copy the PPD file into the folder as listed above.
