Native softwares from Mac OSX wouldn't launch

There was a similar topic previously posted on this site, however, this issue is a bit different.
Yesterday, the major Mac OSX applications wouldn't launch anymore on this machine, mail, Safari, software update, address book , it's all gone or at least wouldn't launch. I've done all typical trouble shooting , nothing really helped here. Did permission repair from a start up drive and from CD with Mac OSX Tiger, was trying to trash preferences ( some of them) , downloaded OSX update COMBO, that wouldn't launch either ,
so far no results. I really wanted to read the crash report, but the problem is I forgot how to do that from Terminal access.
What else I can do? I really don't want to re-install the system, have thousand of different passwords, log ins, plug ins , authorizations installed on this one. I believe my problem could be related to unsufficient HDD spasce on my start up drive , as yesterday my mail back up session ended up in a weird way, as mail created all doubles for my pop3 accounts and copied everything to itslef, over 20 Gig of data! so, I already have some space cleaned up so at least I can do something on this machine, so now I have at least 6 gig of available hard drive space, and my internal RAM is 2 Gig.
Please help
Thanks in advance
