Why do all fonts copied from my Mac G5 fail to install on my MacBookPro

Zones: Tiger (Mac OS 10.4), Font Software

Tags: Any font, Mac OS 10.4.11

My G5 failed. I had all files backed up to a hard disc. I copied the library folder with all the fonts to my MacBook Pro. I did not place the fonts directly into the user library as I wanted to select which ones to install.

I double click on a font to install it.
Font book opens, allows me to use install button but then tells me there is problem with the font
When I review the problem, ticks are placed beside all features of the font such as kerning table etc, BUT beside System Validation there is a red cross meaning serious problems were found.

This is happening with every font I attempt to install. Can anyone help me resolve this?
