The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. When you provide your feedback, each rating is adjusted accordingly. So, if you see a solution that has a poor rating that you think is a good solution, let us know by rating it. As you do, the rating will be adjusted and will become more accurate for other members of our site.

If you have any suggestions that you would like to make for our rating system, please ask a question in the Suggestions Zone of Community Support.

Thank you!

Dreamweaver Pop-up menus displayed incorrectly in macintosh computers

Asked by hnanne in Apple Operating Systems, Apple, Appletalk

I developed a site using Dreamweaver MX on a PC.  My client has a macintosh computer.  In my site, I used pop-up menus from the behaviours panel in dreamweaver.  On any PC, the site displays as I planned it, but on macintosh computers the pop-up menu shows up over the link, instead of beside it (example: http://www.expoempleo.net/comoexponer.htm the vertical menu).  Also, my client wanted to have a site that had proper navigation with or without the flash player installed on the user's browser, so I planted a layer over the flash animations with a series of gif's that had normal html links on them, and also the same pop-up menus from dreamweaver.  I did this because if the user doesn't have the player installed, the layer with the gifs shows up, if he has the player installed, the gifs don't show up, the flash animation does instead (you'll have to uninstall the flash player to see this work).  The pop-up menus here also have problems, my client says that they show up twice and they are not below the image, which has the link.  The point is, my pop-up menus show up as I designed them on PC's but are all screwed up on Mac's.  I've had other problems in the past with PC based Dreamweaver designed sites viewed on Mac's, but I've managed to work arround them.  This time I can't seem to make this work.  Any help is appreciated.Start Free Trial
