OS 9 utility cd won't initialize IBM hard drive on G3
I bought a G3 beige from a deadbeat e-bay seller and end up with more problems than I bargained for. At this point, all I want to do is initialize the hard drive and start from scratch. However, I'm unable to do so with OS 9 or OS 9.2 CD utility. I booted from the CD, in case you're wondering. But I get the same message all the time. It cannot initialize a non Apple hard drive. What should I do?

Apple's Disc Utilty which should be there on the disc initializes any HD afaik
Only in OS X. Not OS 9. The OS 9 disk utility was fussy about drives.
