So what are you telling me? Am I looking at a re-installation?
Main Topics
Browse All TopicsI have been trying for days to run Fixamac's Printer Setup Repair 5.0.5 on my computer. I have been able to run it on every other Mac in my office (we have 10), but it will not run on my Mac OS 10.4.6 because it won't accept my admin password.
It says: "Unable to complete the process. Error type 1. Security API failed with error -60008.. Please try again."
This is frustrating, because every other application on my computer accepts the user name and password. I've also checked in Terminal to change my root password, and made sure in NetInfo Manager that my root user is enabled. It all seems to be fine.
Since I ran a Norton anti-virus scrub a week ago, a lot of things have gone awry with my computer. The printer won't even spool (hence the Printer Setup Repair), I cannot access our remote network server through Apple-K (it simply freezes up when I try to select the volume to mount) and now this.
Any thoughts?

Some people will never learn. There are two sure-fire ways to screw up Mac OS X:
- Boot into Mac OS 9 and delete critical unix system files and directories.
OR
- Run any Norton utility.
At least the first one is easier to recover from.
