How Do I correct a shared library error ?

Asked by Mountainapple in Apple Operating Systems, Mac OS X, Tiger (Mac OS 10.4)

Tags: "The application "Word" could not be launched because of a shared library error:"

When I start up my computer, I recieve the error message:  "the application "Palm Desktop" and "Transport Monitor" could not be launched because of a shared library error: 5 /Microsoft Word/ CarbonLib/CFMPriv_CoreFoundation/"   The same happens when I try to open Word.

I use Tiger OS X 4.11.

Failed solutions include:   Re-downloading the OS.  (I cannot upgrade to a higher OS as I do not use Leopard OS X 5)     I have tried my disk utility, and this has not worked either.

Any help would be much appreciated.Start Free Trial
