The Solution Rating System
|
|
| With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating. - The Grade of the Solution
- The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
- The Number of Author and Expert Comments
- The Number of Experts Contributing
- The Feedback of the Community
Your Input Matters Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. When you provide your feedback, each rating is adjusted accordingly. So, if you see a solution that has a poor rating that you think is a good solution, let us know by rating it. As you do, the rating will be adjusted and will become more accurate for other members of our site. If you have any suggestions that you would like to make for our rating system, please ask a question in the Suggestions Zone of Community Support. Thank you! |

Asked by ehanner in Apple Operating Systems, Apple Networking, Application Servers
Hello all,
I am a true blue PC tech with a fair amount of experience in networking and system management. I am being asked to take a look at a system that is all mac and I would like to help if I can. This place bought a very expensive server of some kind ($12,000) that seems to crash often and from what I know it's a simple enough situation that it shouldn't. I suspect the large volume of images is choking the flow and likely a design configuration has created a bottleneck.
This is a retail store with cash drawers and inventory system that also has an online sales catalog with lots of photos. It's not all on the server so there must be 2 connected branches. I don't think they have more than 20 computers total and 35 employees to give you an idea of the size.
I know there are shared protocols that can be used so I could possibly run a PC server but I'm thinking maybe I should buck up and finally learn the mac system.
Is there a quick way for me to get into this mac system and get up to speed on the differences? Maybe some suggestions on how to go about learning this strange and somewhat familiar looking OS?
