I need a button in a TileList

I have a working TileList and ItemList. In both instances, people can add to these lists. However, I need the ability to delete items from this list. Visually, the easiest way to do this is to have a button beside each item that they can click to delete.

I've tried adding an icon, which works just fine, but it won't behave as a button, even if the symbol is a button. I can't find how to change the state of the icon or use the iconFunction to do this. The items are stored on server, so it will do an external PHP file to do the actual deleting and then just reload the TileList/ItemList from scratch, so I don't need a dynamic delete option, just a way to get the button to work and behave as a button.
