File Level Locking on Shared Volumes in OSX Server 10.4

Hello!

We have several "Final Cut" users which need to access project files located on an OSX 10.4 Server. Currently, more than 1 person can open the file simultaneously and whoever saves last, overwrites the file and the other person/people lose their files.

I need to find a way (I heard rumor) that OSX 10.5 server has file-level locking. I have 10.4, so my question is - Will 10.4 do this? The ONLY thing I need to do is stop other people from simultaneously opening the same file. Actually, they could open...just not save over it.

Any help is greatly appreciated. Start Free Trial
