XP on iMac - TCP/IP settings error

- Newer iMac
- Leopard
- Used boot camp to run Win XP sp2
- iMac into cable modem

Install went ok but I can not connect to the internet. I tried to set it up like my laptop but no luck.

I get this error:

Failed to query TCP/IP settings of the connection. Can not proceed.

I tried a few free apps from redsofts.com. Connection shows a 1394
