Hardware and Software Suggestions for mounting a database on the web

I was asked to research hardware and software to put our documentation database on the web. The database was programmed in FileMaker Pro 5.5.  I need to know what backend software is required and what hardware is required.  We have around 400 staff who use the current database a s a standalone runtime application.  The documentation database is used to report to the state every year and the data has to be accurate. It calculates cost, hours and contact hours as well as numbers of attendees at our workshops and courses.  It also outputs to Excel where it creates charts.
