SQL commands are meant to be used on external SQL table, not on internal ones.
Use the "replace contents" command instead.
that will be something like:
replace contents t1::col1 , calc= if (t1::col2 = val2 ; val1 ; col1 )
or first search records where col2 = val2, then
replace contents t1::col1 , calc=val1
