I'm creating records in a FileMaker Pro database via JDBC. The data is coming from a Java applet that is managing information transfer between MySQL web servers and FM Pro. The Java applet acts as the interface between the servers and FM, with FM managing Inventory and Invoicing.
After the record is created in FM and populated with data, I need to trigger a script to do other processing of the record such as updating related Inventory records and setting Commissions. JDBC does not, as far as I can tell, offer this option in the way that I might do if we were using PHP directly from the web.
FM10's Script Triggers are object specific so that seems to rules them out, but perhaps not... I've thought about using a plugin script activator like ZippScript or DoScript, but don't think the script will fire because the JDBC connection is changing records directly on FM Server Advanced rather than in FM Pro. Any suggestions or experience with triggering a script in this type of scenario?

fm server has fm and external script triggering features now, based on a schedule.
If you'd trigger a fm script from outside on external events, you can lauch fm wth a dummy db which only executes a fm script in the real db by making the given script its startup script, old trick but works well, I'll explain in details if necessary.
juanvaldes - I've downloaded the ScriptMaster plugin which looks like it has a wealth of features, some of which I'm currently paying for with developer licenses in other plugins. There's a lot here and I'm wondering if you can point me in right direction regarding my goal of triggering a script on FM server 9/10. The script needs to run immediately after the record is created and populated rather than on a periodic basis using the Timed Script capability. The plugin documentation references installing the plugin in FM Server for use with Time Scripts and web publishing but I'm not yet seeing how I would get it to do what I want. I'm digging into it further and trying to understand what Groovy is, but any tips would be appreciated.
