File corrupt on save to AFP share

Asked by bhilgenkamp in OS-X Server, Mac OS 10.5 (Leopard), Final Cut

Tags: AFP, save, corrupt, 10.5.11, final cut

We have an OS X server running 10.4.11 that we use to store out Final Cut Pro project files. Everyone mounts the share to open/save projects directly from the share. This is normally fine, but I have one user that gets an error (File Error: Unknown File) when he tries to save over the file. Once this happens the file on the server is corrupted/made into an empty file. We have been using the same method for years with no problems. The user just got a newer machine running 10.5.8, but I myself am running the same version with no problems. It almost appears that Final Cut is emptying the file on the server, but then can't write to the file anymore. Just a theory though. All permissions seem to be correct on the file and directory that he is saving to. He is using a mobile home, as we all are. I just cannot find any differences in his setup compared to the rest of us who aren't having any trouble. Thoughts?
